Understand random starting levels and the same-level merge rule before setting a run goal.
Give the run one main question
The game’s stated clear goals span 25–55 waves. Use the target displayed for the run you are actually playing instead of expecting every run to end on the same wave.
A practical goal can be to understand the failure point from your last attempt. Watch what happens before the defense breaks, rather than only remembering the final wave number.
- Read the current run target.
- Watch which part of a wave causes pressure.
- Record the combination or change you want to compare next time.
Use the index to name the collection gap
Competition mode requires collecting every index. Check the game’s index directly so your next collection goal reflects an entry that is still missing.
This is a completion condition, not a promise that any one roll will supply the final entry. Avoid building a plan around assumed drop rates.
- Open the index and review missing entries.
- Choose a collection goal for the next session.
- After the session, check which entries actually changed.
Turn a failed attempt into a useful next attempt
Separate an unclear merge decision from a combination that could not handle the wave. If you changed several things at once, repeat with fewer simultaneous changes so the result is easier to understand.
- Recall the first point where enemies got through.
- Choose one board decision to change.
- Inspect the next attempt at that same point.
